A wedding registry typically includes a variety of items that you would like to receive. These gifts are from your wedding guests.

Where do I begin?
Well first decide on how many places you are going to register. Then create your account. This usually only takes a few minutes. It will ask you questions like your name and your SO name. It will also ask you when your wedding date is. If you don't have a date picked out, that's fine! You can always add it later!
What do I put on my registry?
Everything! Places like Amazon and many others, if you items left over on your registry, they will give you up to 20% OFF those items after your wedding date has passed. This is always subject to change however that is their policy as I am writing this article. I always say "If you think you want it, add it".
You can also add "Most wanted" and "highest priority".
I also recommend multiple registries.
Some people may call this tacky but personally I might love to order from Amazon and my mom might like going into a physical store.
Please note: if you decide to do this, add different items on each registry. You don't want multiple salt shakers of the same style.

Here are some common categories of items to consider when creating a wedding registry:
1. Kitchenware:
Cookware sets, bakeware, kitchen appliances (such as blenders, mixers, or coffee makers), cutlery, utensils, dinnerware, glassware, and kitchen gadgets.
2. Home Decor and Furniture:
Bedding, bath towels, decorative items, picture frames, vases, candles, rugs, and furniture pieces like bookshelves or accent chairs.
3. Appliances and Electronics:
Vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, toasters, microwaves, TVs, sound systems, or any other appliances or electronics that the couple may need or desire.
4. Home Improvement Tools:
Power tools, toolkits, gardening equipment, or items for DIY projects around the house.
5. Outdoor and Entertaining:
Barbecue grills, patio furniture, picnic sets, or any items for outdoor entertaining like coolers, hammocks, or games.
6. Experiences:
Some couples opt for experiences rather than physical gifts. This may include travel vouchers, spa treatments, cooking classes, concert tickets, or other activities the couple enjoys.
7. Cash or Honeymoon Fund:
Couples may choose to include a cash fund or honeymoon registry option, where guests can contribute towards their honeymoon expenses or specific experiences during their trip.

When creating a wedding registry, it's important to consider your personal preferences, lifestyle, and needs as a couple.
Be sure to include items in a range of price points to accommodate guests with different budgets. Your mom and dad might spend more, where as your cousin who just traveled 1000 miles to see you might not have a ton of extra money. I always suggest things anywhere from $10-$500.
I know Amazon does it, but some registers will allow you to check a box where the guests can pitch in on one huge gift. So be sure when choosing your place of registry, you look into that as well.

Many retailers offer online wedding registries that make it easy to manage and update your selections.
My top picks are:
Amazon
Walmart
Target
Bed Bath & Beyond
IKEA
Kohl's
Crate & Barel
Honeymoon Fund

Remember it's YOUR wedding. There is no right or wrong way to do it.
